OREANDA-NEWS. June 29, 2012. PrivatBank has introduced a new technology of fund collection and proceeding with cash which implies a mandatory utilization of used-up lead sealings. As reported in the bank, a new environmental project will help to prevent environment from ingressing of lead into it - all used-up sealings will not be thrown away, but collected and sent for centralized recycling now.

"We are the green bank, not only because of our logo’s color. Everyone knows that we systematically fight with a paper workflow, regularly organizing community work days - said Alexander Dubilet, the PrivatBank Chairman of the Board. - Utilization of lead is the one more, maybe large-scale but still important, measure of environmental protection."

Today lead sealings are used for cash collection and transportation in Ukraine. As a result of environmental monitoring of this process carried out by PrivatBank’s specialists, it was found that used-up lead sealings were often thrown out to waste disposal system that may result in risk of soil and groundwater contamination.

Lead, along with other heavy metals, is the one of the main pollutants of environment causing irreparable harm to health. According to scientists’ estimations, emissions of lead and its compounds in the oceans are 430-650 thousand tons per annum.
