OREANDA-NEWS.  June 28, 2012. The Fifth session of the Polish-Uzbek intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation will be held in Warsaw, Poland, in early September, the head of the Department on assisting trade and investment of Poland Embassy in Tashkent Slawomir Strzalkowski said.

He said that a group of experts of the Polish-Uzbek intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation met in Tashkent on 29-31 May 2012 to discuss execution of the decisions of the fourth session of the committee and consider preparation to the fifth session.

According to the Polish statistics, mutual trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Poland made up US8 million in 2011, which grew by 23% year-on-year.

The exports of Poland to Uzbekistan rose 1.5 times in 2011 and made up US4 million, the Polish organization said.

The Department on assisting trade and investment said that Poland increased exports of animals, food and fats, mineral products, products from woods, chemical goods, and others.

Share of animals in exports of Poland grew from 6% to 25%. Over 19% of total exports fell to share of chemical products. Exports of machines and equipment accounted 22% of Polish exports, 10% - vehicles and equipment, 5.6% - products from wood and furniture. About 4% of exports fell to share of food.

Uzbekistan significantly increased exports of food, soft and alcohol drinks. Share of chemical products in exports of Uzbekistan to Poland reached to 32%, mineral products – 45% and textile products – 17%.

The Department added that positive trends in trade-economic relations were kept in the first quarter of 2012. The trade turnover between two states made up US million, of which US.5 million were exports of Poland.
