OREANDA-NEWS. June 26, 2012. This is stipulated by the draft fiscal policy for 2013 approved by Cabinet ministers at their sitting on Thursday. According to the document, the permissible age limit for cars imported will be raised from 7 to 10 years, the Minster of Faineance said.

However, cars at the age of over 7 will be imposed on higher excises which will grow 5% per every extra year. For example, the excises will make 5% for 8 –year- old cars, 10% for 9-year-old ones and 15% for 10 –year old cars. Ввоз машин старше 10 лет будет запрещен. As for permission to legalize all cars regardless their age imported under the regime of temporary import till November, 1, 2012 , theoretically, the law does not forbid to legalize till this date the cars imported after the law's coming into effect, the Minister of Finance stresses.

However, it’s better first to calculate the cost of a car, because cars at the age over 7 will be imposed on excises increasing by 5% for each extra year. The Minster thinks groundless flooding the market of Moldova with old cars and notes all parking lots are chock –full of them.
