OREANDA-NEWS. June 22, 2012. In the course of major modernization of VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation Sheet Rolling Shop, a unique operation was performed for installation of new straightening machine bed. Standard, as it should seem, procedure required engaging of additional capacities and organizational efforts due to weight of the part – 120 tons. For transportation of the equipment with such irregular sizes, heavy hauler arrived in Verkhnaya Salda from Chelyabinsk, and a special gantry will be used for bed installation. The installation team of the Vostokmontazhmekhanizatciya company will come to VSMPO together with this gantry.  When the giant part is installed, organizational actions will be taken for delivery and installation of one more bed of the same configuration and weight at the straightening area of Sheet Rolling Shop.

Straightening machine produced by German company G+K is only a part of plate annealing and straightening complex. New complex includes heating furnaces, loading-unloading automatic system, auxiliary equipment and tilting unit.

Line operation will require extra electric power that will be generated by three transformers installation of which has already been started in Sheet Rolling Shop.
