OREANDA-NEWS.  June 21, 2012. TNK-BP will invest approximately 200 mln rubles in an exploration programme in the Saratov region before the end of 2012. In the first quarter of this year 126 mln rubles have been invested in this area, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

OJSC Orenburgneft (a TNK-BP group company) is currently developing the Kulikovsky and Kameliksky fields in the Perelubsky district of the Saratov region. As a result of drilling 2 exploration wells, an oil and gas condensate field has been discovered in Kulikovsky block. 3D seismic exploration works have been carried out in Kameliksky block covering 730 km2 and 2D seismic works were carried out on 100 meters; 2 structures are ready and preparation to drill the exploration wells has begun.

OJSC Orenburgneft Exploration Department Director, Nikolay Bachurin said: “Saratov and Orenburg regions are located in territories with similar geological structures. At Kulikovsky and Kameliksky fields, crude and condensate resources are expected to be close to 14 mln tonnes, while gas resources are expected to be approximately 18.7 bln m3.”
