Vice PM of Ukraine: Ukraine Needs to Reduce Single Social Installment
OREANDA-NEWS. June 20, 2012. Following the legalization of wages the government is going to consider the possibility of the gradual reduction of the single social tax. This was announced by the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Social Policy Sergiy Tigipko on the air of the Svoboda Slova [Freedom of Speech] program on the TV channel ICTV.
"We can't do without payroll legalization because today 145-150 billion UAH are being paid 'in envelopes' [i.e. illegal]; there are not being paid contributions to social funds from them.
If we want to think of raising social standards in the future, to increase pensions in 2013-2014, it is necessary to carry out the legalization of wages and labour market. But we are ready to compromise to business and offer a deal: we carry legalization, achieve a specific result, and then reduce the single social installment," said Sergiy Tigipko.
