OREANDA-NEWS. June 20, 2012. Sviaz-Bank has introduced time deposits in British pounds, Swiss francs, and Japanese yen for legal entities and individual entrepreneurs. Previously, uncommitted funds could only be deposited in rubles, U.S. dollars, and euro, reported the press-centre of Sviaz-Bank.

Funds can be deposited for periods varying from one day to three years, be withdrawn before the due date, pay interest monthly or on the expiry of deposit agreements.

“We have launched deposit products in new currencies for our customers,” said Sergey Volokhov, Vice Chairman of Sviaz-Bank’s Management Board. “The popularity of British pounds, Swiss francs, and Japanese yen as investment instruments is steadily on the rise because these currencies are relatively stable, so deposits in these currencies will enjoy demand among our customers against the background of exchange rate fluctuations and changes in the market situation.”

Deposits in rubles, U.S. dollars, euro, British pounds, Swiss francs, and Japanese yen are accepted at any Sviaz-Bank office in Moscow and other cities of the Bank’s presence.
