OREANDA-NEWS. June 19, 2012.  On June 19-20 a meeting of directors of U.S. national laboratories and ROSATOM’s enterprises is being held at RFNC VNIIEF.

The meeting was preceded by an international conference held in April 2012 where a retrospective review and cooperation outlook were made.

The main foreign partners of RFNC VNIIEF are nuclear weapons laboratories, scientific organizations and industrial companies of the USA and Europe. Over 20 years RFNC VNIIEF has participated in more than 1,000 joint contracts and projects. A great significance is attached to the interaction in frames of the Russia-US intergovernmental agreement in the field of nuclear material physical protection, control and accounting. 

For the June 20 session it is planned that directors of Lawrence Livermore, Sandia, Los Alamos nuclear weapons laboratories, directors of institutes of ROSATOM will elaborate on their achievements, highlight specific areas (projects) where they see prospects of the international cooperation. There will be a meeting of representatives of ROSATOM and National Nuclear Security Administration.
