Tata Power Will Install Waste Water Recovery Plant at Its Power House
OREANDA-NEWS. June 18, 2012.
This unique WWRP is an effluent treatment plant with tube settler clarifier. The objective of installing this plant is to filter and purify the waste-water that is generated from the side stream filtration plant, and reuse the purified water as alternative water for the cooling system of the plant.
High-turbidity waste water is generated during backwash of Side Stream Filtration (SSF) plant filter beds. The backwash of SSF bed is essential in plant operation, but it generates waste-water. Thus, the need was felt to reuse the waste-water generated from it.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Kudalkar said, “This project is undertaken to reiterate the need for reducing water consumption, which is in line with the company’s policy of environment conservation. We are certain that this will help in reduction of water wastage, better plant availability as well as environment conservation. This is a step towards “Zero discharge”, and shall contribute towards sustainability.”
