OREANDA-NEWS. June 18, 2012. PrivatBank is going to install 825 of new ATMs in Ukraine during first half of 2012 increasing its ATMs’ network up to 8,500 units. As PrivatBank’s press-office reported the required number of ATMs has already been delivered to Ukraine and the ATMs will be launched in EURO-2012 cities as well as in other places.

There is a general tendency of reduction in total number of ATMs in Ukraine (according to the National Bank of Ukraine at the first quarter of 2012 most banks cut down their ATMs’ networks by 3%). Nevertheless, the growth of PrivatBank’s ATM network by almost 12% will hopefully provide the necessary level of service during the European football championship.

– My friends sometimes tell me: “How long could you proceed with installment of new ATMs? Even  now every town or village you go, everywhere you face a PrivatBank’s ATM!”, - said Kirill Volkov, the Deputy Head of PrivatBank’s “Retail Business”. - It is certainly pleasant, but we are not even think to stop it.

According to Kirill Volkov, a significant expansion of PrivatBank’s ATM network will allow Ukraine to get closer to advanced countries in  Europe by the level of ATM quantity per a million of residents. So, after the installation of the new batch of ATMs their number per a million of residents will reach 720 units. The same ratio in Switzerland is 790 ATMs, France - 832, Italy - 922 Germany - 968, and in Belgium – 1,445 ATMs per a million of inhabitants.

In course of preparing its financial infrastructure for Euro-2012, PrivatBank has “taught” its ATMs to communicate with clients in 10 foreign languages.

Now PrivatBank has the largest ATM network in Ukraine – 7,687 ATMs. According to the NBU, every third ATM operating in Ukraine is the PrivatBank’s one.
