OREANDA-NEWS. June 18, 2012. Damir Nurutdinov, a famous oil man, drilling foreman, veteran of labor, Hero of Socialist Labor was awarded the Order "Of Merit for the Republic of Tatarstan" by the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Tatarstan for many years of fruitful work, worthy contribution to the development of the oil industry in the Republic of Tatarstan. A solemn ceremony on this occasion was held in the Fireplace Hall of the Kazan Kremlin, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT. 

Presenting the award, Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that Damir Nurutdinov, who had given to work for TATNEFT Oil Company more than forty years was still engaged in public work being a member of the "Heroes of Tatarstan" organization. "During the Soviet economy, your labor example, your achievements in the area of drilling were perceived throughout the country: it is no wonder you were awarded the title of the Hero of Socialist Labor" - Minnikhanov said addressing the veteran.

The head of the Republic said that it was a great honor for him to present the highest award of the Republic of Tatarstan to Damir Nurutdinov. He also drew attention to the fact that TATNEFT always remembered and honored its veterans.

Damir Nurutdinov was also presented the keys to a "Fiat" car.

In his reply Damir Nurutdinov thanked the President of Tatarstan and the management of TATNEFT for the award and care for the veterans.

Damir M. Nurutdinov celebrates his 75th birthday this year. He dedicated nearly 40 years of Valorous Labor to the oil trade. He was memorized in the annals of the country as a promoter of the initiative "Oil wells - complete job cycle"! The crew headed by Nurutdinov was the first to volunteer working in a full cycle, performing the duties alien to the drillers, such as logging, perforating and string flushing operations. This initiative was supported by the drillers of the whole country.

For over ten years, the crew of Nurutdinov was holding the title of the best drilling crew of the Ministry of Oil Industry in the country.

The distinguished foreman was awarded several governmental awards, including the title of the Hero of Socialist Labor with presentation of the Order of Lenin and the gold medal "Hammer and Sickle." The achievements of Damir Makhmutovich in wells construction were also distinguished by the USSR State Prize and the Prize named after Academician I.M. Gubkin.
