OREANDA-NEWS. June 18, 2012. The Government of the Saratov region abolished its competition-restricting decision to grant preferences to a state-run enterprise, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

On 25th December 2009, the Government of the Saratov region issued a decree that gave “Unified Capital Construction Directorate” state-run enterprise the right to render services for technical supervision over construction, restoration, capital repair and modernization of economic and social-and-cultural facilities. The Capital Construction Committee of the Saratov region is the government customer for such facilities.

Members of Saratov Regional Legislature complained to the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) about non-comliance with competition law in the Saratov region.

On 19th March 2012, FAS found that the Government of the Saratov region violated the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition” by creating preferential conditions to the state-run enterprise. FAS issued a determination to the regional Government to abolish the norm that establishes preferences for “Unified Capital Construction Directorate”.

To execute the determination, the Government of the Saratov region eliminated the violation by bringing its Decree in line with the antimonopoly law.
