OREANDA-NEWS. June 18, 2012. Up to date therer have not been any such a law in Moldova, Minsiter of Agriculture and Food Industry Vasile Bumacov states. Lawmakers made attempt to include beer in frames of special laws, but all their intiatives vere declined.

The technical regulation stipulates introduction of beer production in legislative frameworks regulating production of alcohol as well as harominzation of the Moldovan law with the repective European one. The document was drawn up in the partnership with the Union of Brewers and companies producing and selling beer.

Technical Regulation „ Beer and Beer-beverages” is applied to production of beer, special beer and beer-based beverages, defines terminology and sets forth requirements to the quality and safety of local and imported beer, brewing and selling beer, its presentation, labaleing and providing consumers with information.

The Regulation includes ruels and descriptions of procedures of appraisal of conformity of beer, its placement to the market, production licensing and turnover. It includes classification of beer, its characteristics, technical and sanitary requirements to technological equipment, feedstock and beer production related materials.

The document sets forth requirements to the beer production, storage, transportation and realization, industrial supervision and market placement.
