OREANDA-NEWS. June 14, 2012. In response to misleading information appearing in media on June 7, 2012 suggesting that UTair Aviation faced bankruptcy as a result of transactions with Avialeasing Company, the airline affirms its status as a stable, financially solvent enterprise.  The airline has released the following statement regarding Avialeasing:

Avialeasing has refused to compensate UTair by any means, including through offsetting lease payments incurred by the airline, for expenses incurred for the progressive “slide technology” repair and maintenance operations on two Tupolev Tu-154 aircraft. The MRO works performed by UTair were approved by Federal Aviation Agency Rosaviatsia and formalized with standard agreements.

“We are surprised by the attention the media has given to this insignificant maintenance dispute to be resolved in court,” said UTair Aviation General Director Andrey Martirosov.  “Unfortunately our former partner Avialeasing has not been able to manage its business affairs and has instead resorted to petty corporate raiding, manipulation of facts and shady PR tactics instead of working earnestly to find an acceptable compromise and means of concluding legal proceedings. UTair Aviation’s financial state and operations will in no way be influenced by this event.”
