Moldova Presents New Fines for Illegal Employment
OREANDA-NEWS. June 14, 2012. This is provided b amendments to the Code of Offences. According to them, illegal employment will be fined 100 to 150 conventional units imposed on individuals for every illegal worker.
Executive officers will be fined 250 to 350 c.u. and legal entities will be imposed fines at a sum of 350 to 500 c.u. for every illegal employee. Premier Vladimir Filat spoke for amendments to be introduced to fine illegal employees themselves, which would make the campaign against illegal labor more effective.
Cabinet ministers also approved fines for labor of the minors under conditions dangerous for life and health and for illegal employment of the minors. This violation will be fined 100 to150 c.u. for individuals, 250 to 400 c.u. for executive officers and 400 to 500 c. u. for legal entities and possible revocation of the right for activity for 6 to 12 months.
As it was said at the sitting, the Labor Inspectorate conducts over 6 thou. inspections every year and records over 80 thou. cases of violation of the Labor Code and the right for safety and health protection at working places. In 2011 alone, inspections of 230 economic entities disclosed over 1140 illegal employees and having backdoor salaries. In 2009-2011 it was recorded 15 industrial accidents in which illegal workers suffered.
