OREANDA-NEWS. June 13, 2012. On May, the 30th the pilot pattern of PD-14 engine of the 5th generation was assembled in the assembly shop and sent for testing.  Engine manufacturing was performed in a strong cooperation with the enterprises of the United Engine Building Corporation. Seven companies of UEBC took part in development and manufacturing of the proof sample of PD-14 engine: Perm companies OJSC "Aviadvigatel", OJSC ‘Perm Engine Company", OJSC ‘Star-Inkar", Ufa enterprises, such as OJSC"UMBPA" and RPE ‘Motor", Rybinsk RDC "Saturn" and Moscow FSUE "Salut".   

The biggest contribution to manufacturing parts and assembly units was made by OJSC ‘Perm Engine Company", which assembled a high pressure turbine, high pressure compressor starter, a part of the low pressure turbine, a part of the combustion chamber and some other components. In future the volume of participation of OJSC "PMZ" in the batch production of PD-14 engine will increase: the enterprise will produce almost the whole of a gas generator, run general assembly and testing of the engine, which is approximately a half of all production process. Besides, "Perm Engine Company" will be responsible for repair and maintenance of in-operation engines.

Mastering of the batch production of PD-14 engine and its operational support is our pass to future, a guarantee of stability and well-being of several generations of our employees, because every gas turbine engine, which is new in design is a complex highly technological project, the base for many modifications of the engines of both industrial and aviation purposes, the service life of which is 30-40 years.
