OREANDA-NEWS. June 13, 2012.  Last week, representatives of Czech towns, which are located near Temelin NPP, took part in a tour of Leningrad nuclear power plant located in Russia, including a visit of two new blocks of the plant, which are currently under construction. During the visit they familiarised themselves with the main safety elements of Leningrad NPP, economic impact of the power plant on development of North-West region of Russia and the system of cooperation with local government authorities and citizens. The Czech delegates also took part in an excursion of the costruction site of two new blocks of Leningrad NPP. These blocks with a power output of 1200 MW utilise the same project solutions that is offered by Cthe zech-Russian Consortium MIR.1200 in the tender for completion of Temelin NPP.
 
Deputy Director of Temelin NPP Antonнn Jesatko commented on the visit of the power plant: „The main aim of the excursion was for the representatives of south-bohemian towns to get acquianted with the safety systems that be used in Russian nuclear power plants. This is because the first blocks of Czech NPP Temelin were built according to Russian designs.“
 
A meeting with Viktor Podrezov, first deputy mayor of the city of Sosnovyj Bor, which is located near Leningrad NPP, was also part of the visit. During the meeting Podrezov explained his experiences of cooperating with the nuclear power plant to the Czech delegation. He also introduced social projects, which can act as a source of inspiration for Temelin NPP.
 
Jesatko together with the representatives of Czech towns welcomed the opportunity to exchange information with Russian representatives of the nuclear power plant, local government authorities and citizens.
