Vladivostok Port Throughput Rises 16.7%
OREANDA-NEWS. June 09, 2012. Cargo traffic at Commercial Seaport of Vladivostok (JSC CPV) in January-May 2012 grew by 16.7% compared to the same period of 2011, to more than 3 million tons, the stevedore company said.
The five-month volume of exports, imports and coastal trade totaled 1,589,600 tons, including dry bulk, liquid bulk and other general cargoes, excluding containers and imported vehicles.
The stevedore company handled 178,602 TEUs of containerized cargo, 29,351 units of imported cars and vehicles. During the reporting period, the CPV was handling on average 19,744.4 tons of different cargoes and 264 units of rolling stock a day.
Commercial Seaport of Vladivostok, member of FESCO Transport Group, owns and operates its assets at the port of Vladivostok, a premier Russian seaport in the Far East region. Port of Vladivostok encompasses 55 ha, over 14 km of waterfront featuring 17 berths with terminals for handling grain, containers, imported vehicles, as well as a passenger terminal. In 2011, CPV’s cargo throughput fell 7.8% year-over-year to 6.38 million tons.
