KTZ, DHL Will Carry Out Logistics Innovation Projects in Cooperation
OREANDA-NEWS. June 09, 2012. JSC “National Company “Kazakhstan temir zholy” (KTZ) and LLC “DHL Logistics” have signed a memorandum of cooperation and interaction aimed at the realization of joint projects in the transport sector, which will improve the logistics environment in Kazakhstan.
The partnership with DHL, which is part of the world's leading logistics corporation Deutsche Post DHL, was established under the "Global Partner" project for the establishment of active cooperation with leaders in the field of transport logistics, which results in the creation of integrated logistics in Kazakhstan.
DHL has an innovation center, one of whose tasks is to develop innovative, environmentally friendly, flexible and marketable products, to address the logistics challenges of the future.
The Memorandum has been signed to strengthen cooperation in transport logistics and investment in different directions. First of all, it is DHL possible participation in the development of special economic zone "Khorgos - East Gate", as well as participation in joint transport and logistics products . Secondly, it is the exchange of experience of the logistics business, providing consulting services on a reciprocal basis, the introduction of new, innovative, results-oriented logistics solutions and Supply Chain Management (SCM).
The intention of the memorandum is to establish and develop cooperation between the parties on the provision of services in transport and logistics sector in Kazakhstan: support in increase of the export and transit traffic, the formation of competitive routes, attraction of the new transit traffic passing through the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In addition, the document is intended to achieve the maximum synergy effect by creating a mechanism for organizing transportation by the “one stop window” principle, which will help to ensure optimum use of vehicles and will provide services to the maximum economic benefit and attractive conditions for all participants in the transportation process.
As the Vice President of JSC “NC “KTZ” Erkhat Iskaliev noticed, the transfer of the innovative technologies in cooperation with DHL will help to achieve competitive rates for transportation, and to improve the quality of service at the border. In the future, the parties agreed to cooperate on issues such as DHL participation in the formation of seven transport and logistics centers of JSC “NC “KTZ”, an analysis of the efficiency of cargo flows with respect to alternative routes through joint efforts, measures to increase traffic and transit of Kazakh goods and ensuring the attractiveness of routes using multimodal transport.
