OREANDA-NEWS. June 9, 2012. Vilnius International Airport introduced the light business class aircraft Embraer Phenom 300 to Lithuanian entrepreneurs.
It is the newest work of the Brazilian manufacturer “Embraer” which was developed from scratch following specific demands expressed by air taxi business representatives. The manufacturer already built 70 aircrafts each for the price of USD 9 million.
This 6-8 seat and 8,150 kg maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) aircraft is categorized as a light jet. This type of aircraft is an undisputed leader in the category, surpassing its rivals Cessna Citation 4 and Hawker 400XP in speed and flight distance.
Phenom 300 with 6 passengers and their luggage can cover a distance of 3200 km at the speed of 800 km/h. Functional interior was designed in cooperation with the company “BMW Designworks USA”. This aircraft is equipped with an aerial lift and an unusually spacious baggage compartment – which is uncharacteristic for this type of aircraft and therefore is a distinctive feature of Phenom 300.
“We are happy to be able to introduce this wonderful aircraft to our customers,” head of the aircraft lease and sales company “Aeroservisas” Benas Laurinaitis said. “This is a true novelty for Lithuania. Each aircraft seems to be a cluster of certain compromises; however, this aircraft makes you reconsider the validity of this rule. It is not a coincidence that partial aircraft ownership pioneers – the company “NetJets” – ordered more than 100 jets of this type,” – business class aircraft connoisseur Mr. Laurinaitis praised the new Brazilian jet.
Pilots seem to worship this aircraft. The captain of the “Embraer” aircraft, having spent over 1,000 hours flying Phenom 300, in Vilnius was naming numerous advantages and technological innovations of this modern jet.
Phenom 300 and his smaller model Phenom 100 significantly raised the bar for the light jet market – there is no doubt that other manufacturers will be forced to rise to the challenge which will in turn accelerate the development of business aviation in the 21st century.
