OREANDA-NEWS. June 08, 2012. Azerbaijan’s water operator Azersu OJSC has conducted foundation laying ceremony of the project on improvement of water supply and sewerage system of Sabirabad city.

The Company reports that the ceremony was attended by Azersu head Gorkmaz Huseynov.

"Within the project 118 litres of water per second will be carried via the new main pipeline from the Kura complex to water treatment plants of Sabirabad and suburban villages. Currently the water from the Kura River comes to the city in partially purified form. The project will ensure provision of the city’s population with uninterrupted and quality water and reconstruct completely the sewage system," Huseynov said.

The work is conducted within the joint project of the Azerbaijani government and the World Bank - National Water Supply & Sanitation Project.
