Sharjah is the third largest and most populous city in the United Arab Emirates. It is located along the northern coast of the Persian Gulf on the Arabian Peninsula. Historically, Sharjah was a major port of the Gulf, but that status was lost over the time. Now Port Khalid is functioning as one of the main port in that region.
