The new version of a free Sberbank Online application made available through App Store (a store of Apple applications) for iPhone owners is intended for devices with the original version of the operating system. This limitation stems from client security precautions. Devices with jailbreak (an operation that opens full access to the device's file system for software) will support only the search of the closest ATMs and a demo version of the application.

"Any device exposed to the operation called jailbreak by users can already be infected with a virus, – Viktor Orlovsky, Senior Vice-President of Sberbank of Russia, points out. – This means the user of this smartphone risks becoming a victim of fraud as funds might be debited from their account without their authorization. Sberbank takes care of client security and its own reputation. This is why we introduced certain limitations when launching the new application".

The new version of the Sberbank Online application for iPhone owners offers the Bank's clients expanded features, including the search of the closest ATM, money transfers to Sberbank clients based on their card number and telephone number registered in the Mobile Bank system. In addition, the application now allows money to be transferred by individuals to another Russian bank, deposits to be opened, cards to be blocked when lost.
