OREANDA-NEWS. June 06, 2012.  Energy and agriculture will be the main directions of cooperation between Ukraine and the World Economic Forum in the framework of recently created WEF Global Agenda Council on Ukraine, President Viktor Yanukovych said at his today’s meeting with journalists on the occasion of Journalist Day.

The President said that Ukraine and the World Economic Forum had been in talks on a format of cooperation for almost a year, and agreed on it during President Yanukovych’s June 5 meeting with WEF Founder and Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab in Istanbul.

“A decision was made to start this process and work,” he said.

Taking the shortage of energy resources and food supplies in the world into account, our cooperation in the area of energy and agriculture is extremely topical, the President said.
