OREANDA-NEWS. June 06, 2012.  Bank VTB has held a conference “Documentary letters of credits as an effective settlement tool for foreign and domestic trade” for its corporate clients. More than 40 top-managers and staff of financial and economic divisions of companies – clients of VTB from Moscow – took place in this conference. More over, clients of 44 regional offices of a bank as well as foreign branch in Shanghai (China) took part in this conference using video-conference format.

Participants of the conference were presented with the up-to-date information on possibilities and advantages of VTB Group in the area of documentary business and trade finance for settlements on foreign-trade contracts and use of letters of credit in Rubles in current situation. Staff from Shanghai (China) branch of VTB told about possibilities of VTB Group in providing Russian companies with effective bank support in settlements with companies from China using currencies of both countries (Russian Ruble and Chinese Yuan).

The conference was a successful continuation of the complex activities undertaken by the Department of transactional business to expand its customer base and promote products of the documentary business. Head of the Department of transactional business, senior vice president Gurinder Nihal said: "For the current year, VTB has planned educational and informational activities for clients in all areas of the documentary business. With the growth in international trade, VTB intends support its clients in Russia and in its foreign branches and subsidiaries through local presence of experts and conferences such as these.
