OREANDA-NEWS. June 06, 2012.  Memorandum of Understanding between the Government and manufacturers and sellers of medicines has been signed.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the Cabinet of Ministers and entities engaged in production of pharmaceuticals, wholesale and retail by such means.

"This document we will sign today - it is primarily a voluntary document, this is your social responsibility, the desire to limit the medicines cost and shows an example to all other manufacturers and vendors. For his part, we are taking certain obligations and we definitely are to fulfill," said Mykola Azarov.

He added that providing medicines to population is extremely important and socially significant. That is why the Government over the past two years has adopted a number of decisions including the implementation of a reference prices mechanism for drugs to treat high blood pressure, as well as improve the quality of drugs and so on.
