OREANDA-NEWS. June 05, 2012.  1st of June 2012 is the date of the 1st meeting of the newly elected Board of Directors of "Uralmashplant" JSC with new Chairman of Board of Directors - Mr. Makhov. The Board of Directors of "Uralmashplant" JSC appointed Mr. Saltanov as General Director.

"Today, we state that the administrative team with Mr. Danchenko in the head successfully fulfilled the goals set forth by the shareholder three years ago." - commented Mr. Makhov, Chairman of "OMZ" Board of Directors, on the appointment of Mr. Saltanov. Mr. Danchenko made a great contribution to startup and realization of a large investment program, returning the plant at its historical heavy drilling-rig market and enlarging a backlog of metallurgical and mining equipment orders. We express our gratitude to Mr. Danchenko for his great contribution and results achieved and wish him further success in his activity in Gazprombank Group. The Board of Directors is confident that Mr. Saltanov having great administrative experience in the iron-and-steel and engineering industries will continue to fulfill important tasks of "Uralmashplant" development.

Prior to the appointment to position of the General Director of "Uralmashplant" JSC, Mr. Saltanov successfully worked in OMZ Group as Deputy General Director responsible for production at OMZ JSC.

Mr. Saltanov was born in 1961. In 1983, he graduated from Sibirsky Metallurgical Higher School in Novokuznetsk, Kemerovskaya Oblast. In 2001, he became Doctor of Engineering Sciences.

During 1983-1995, Mr. Saltanov worked at Kuznetsk Iron-and-Steel Works. He started as foreman's assistant and qualified for the engineering department manager.

During 2004-2010, he was Senior Vice President and General Director of "ESTAR-Electrostal Rossii". During 1998-2003, he was Director of strategic development of "West-Siberian Iron-and-Steel Works" (Evraz Group S.A.).

During 2009-2010, he was General Director of Electrometallurgical Plant in Donetsk, Ukraine.
