Tashkent Hosted Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship
OREANDA-NEWS. June 05, 2012. The competition was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation of Uzbekistan and was held under the auspices of the International Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation.
About 200 athletes from more than 20 countries, in particular, from Japan South Korea, Iran, Oman, Qatar, India, Pakistan, Mongolia and Kazakhstan fought for the victory along with our compatriots.
Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation of Uzbekistan, founded in 2006, is making a great contribution to popularize this kind of sport among young people. Last year, in Asian Bodybuilding Championship, our compatriot Anton Perov occupied the highest step of the podium.
In the competitions held in Turkistan Palace, Umid Kultoyev became the winner of gold medal in 75 kg weight category. One more athlete of Uzbekistan Samvel Grigoryan participating in the same weight category received a bronze medal.
In the competitions among women, our compatriot Alina Yafizova took the third place.
Representatives of Iraq, Kuwait, South Korea, Mongolia, among women – Satoko Yamanuchi of Japan, Irina Shelingovskaya from Kazakhstan, Ming Li from Chinese Taipei, Sri Dadian Nur of Singapore and Devi Mamota from India also occupied prize-winning places.
