Specialists of IDGC of Volga Analyzed Results of Autumn-Winter Season
OREANDA-NEWS. June 5, 2012. IDGC of Volga, JSC convened the meeting to summarize the results of the last autumn-winter season (AWS) and to draw up the plan of preparation for 2012-2013 autumn-winter season. “Full implementation of the repair and investment program increased the service life of equipment installed in the substations and power transmission lines of any voltage and prevented failures of electric grid facilities and sweeping power cuts caused by abnormal weather conditions,” -declared Vladimir Ryabikin, General Director of IDGC of Volga, JSC. 105.5% of target values specified in the repair program for 2011 was actually achieved, thus the Company ensured the required operational safety of the equipment throughout the autumn-winter season. To prepare for AWS, powermen provided de-icing schemes were for electric grid facilities located in the areas previously unaffected by icing phenomenon and issued wind and gust-and-glaze loading charts. During the last AWS, 473 de-icing operations were carried out at 110-6 kV power transmission lines. In order to improve emergency response skills of the personnel, the Company launched 278 training sessions, 6 exercises jointly with EMERCOM and 43 exercises jointly with representatives of executive authorities. During the autumn-winter season 2011-2012, IDGC of Volga, JSC formed first 62 mobile emergency response teams for quick movement to the affected areas and participation in the recovery operations. The analysis of this practice shows that the use of such mobile teams significantly reduces the time of elimination of technological failures caused by weather conditions. To prepare for the AWS 2012-2013, the Company will improve the structure and equipment of the mobile emergency response teams. At the present time, all Branches of IDGC of Volga, JSC proceeded to the sweeping repair campaign as a basic measure to prepare for operations in the autumn-winter season 2012-2013.
