OREANDA-NEWS. June 04, 2012. The cooperation between Ukraine and the EU at the regional level has a significant potential. This was announced by First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Valeriy Khoroshkovsky during a meeting with Danuta Hьbner, European Parliament's deputy, which took place during the visit of First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine to Poland, in Wroclaw on 1 June 2012.

Valeriy Khoroshkovsky stated Ukraine is moving towards European integration not only at a nationwide level but also at regional one. Thus, in April 2012 the Dnipropetrovs'k region made a presentation of its economic and investment potential in the EU Committee of Regions in Brussels, which has caused an interest both from the MEPs side and representatives of European business. "Cooperation between Ukraine and the EU at the regional level has considerable potential because it is the regions implement projects within framework of Ukrainian-European cooperation, particularly in the field of energy saving measures, development of civil society and others. Enhancing cooperation between Ukraine and the European institutions at the regional level will promote the economic integration of our state into the EU," he stressed.
