International Nuclear Law Will Be Discussed at Forum ATOMEXPO-2012
OREANDA-NEWS. June 01, 2012. The IV International Forum ATOMEXPO-2012, which will be held in Moscow on June 4-6, 2012, plans for the symposium “Topical Issues of International Nuclear Law: Nuclear Safety.”
The symposium will be moderated by Mikhail Lysenko, Director of the International Relations Department of ROSATOM.
The symposium goal is to analyze the work already done to improve the international safety system in the field of nuclear power and to identify prospects of further implementation of initiatives launched by the President of Russia as to strengthen the international legal basis of nuclear safety. The symposium participants are to formulate tasks of implementation of results of the Seoul Summit on Nuclear Physical Security and to discuss issues of development of the international law in the field of civil liability for nuclear damage.
The speakers’ list includes: Antony Weatherall (IAEA), Ximena Vasquez-Maignan (OECD/NEA), Danny Van Welkenhuyzen, Head of the European Mutual Insurance Societies EMANI, ELINI, NIRA, Yakub Handrlica, Assistant Professor of the Department of Law, Charles University of Prague, Vladimir Kuchinov, ROSATOM Director General Advisor, Alexander Agapov, Director of the Institute of Global Safety at NRNU MEPHI, and other Russian and international experts.
The symposium “Topical Issues of International Nuclear Law: Nuclear Safety” will be held from 10:00 till 18:00 in Conference Hall No. 3 on June 5, 2012.
