OREANDA-NEWS. June 1, 2012. Rostelecom OJSC (MICEX - RTS: RTKM, RTKMP; OTCQX: ROSYY), Russia’s national telecommunications operator, today announces that it has been assigned an Issuer Default Rating (IDR) of ‘BBB-’ with a Stable Outlook by Fitch Ratings. The Company has also received a senior unsecured corporate credit rating of ‘BBB-’ for its domestic rouble-denominated bonds and a National Long-term rating of ‘AA+’ with a Stable Outlook.

Fitch report states that the market share of Rostelecom’s fixed-line business is likely to remain unchanged, as well as its leadership in the broadband market, which is supported by its fibre strategy. Rostelecom’s customer churn has been modest compared to its European peers, but this has been identified as the key risk by Fitch.
