OREANDA-NEWS. May 31, 2012.  The June 4 business program of ATOMEXPO-2012 plans for the round-table session “Topical Issues of Implementation of the Federal Law on Radioactive Waste Management.”

The round-table session objective is to provide information on features of the legal regulation in the Russian Federation in the field of radioactive waste management, as well as familiarize the audience with the international experience in this field. The organizers intend that the target audience of the session will be representatives of Russian and foreign companies, which participate in international nuclear power projects, including on the legal support to the nuclear industry activities and on development of the legal basis of the peaceful uses of atomic energy.

The session moderator will be Tatiana Elfimova, State Secretary and Deputy Director General for Public Authority Execution and Budgeting of ROSATOM. The speakers’ list includes representatives of ROSATOM, nuclear industry enterprises, ministries and agencies, members of the State Duma – members of expert boards, foreign colleagues from France, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Spain, representatives of the Russian and international scientific communities and regulatory authorities.

At the event the establishment of NO RAO company – the national operator for radioactive waste management - will be announced. Also, it is planned to discuss financial and legal aspects and identify features of the company operations. Some papers will be on experience in organization of work and operations of foreign companies responsible for radwaste management at the national level.

The round-table session “Topical Issues of Implementation of the Federal Law on Radioactive Waste Management” will be held from 14:00 till 18:00 in Congress hall No. 2 on June 4.
