OREANDA-NEWS. May 31, 2012. "Byelorussian steel works" held business-conference "Belarus — Russia: development of cooperation between steel market participants". More than 50 managers of metallurgical industry enterprises from 20 regions of Russia and representatives of Byelorussian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE), JSC "Rechitsa Hardware Plant" and leading analytics of steel market were among the participants of the conference.

 — “Today we have received opportunity to visit Byelorussian steel works and estimate its production capacities. The visit will promote better understanding of the enterprise for representatives of various companies and help to develop business. Participants of the conference are leaders, directors or their deputies, people who make decisions and work for the development of their companies. I am sure that this meeting will be mutually beneficial and will help to increase sales volume of BMZ product”— noted President of Russian steel product suppliers’ union A.G. Romanov.

 During the meeting at the round table in the presence of General Director OJSC "BMZ" A.N. Savenok, participants of business-conference discussed perspectives for steel market development. Visitors from Russia were interested in product sales organization at BMZ and projects for the further development of production facilities. A.N. Savenok informed that substantial modernization program is now carried out at the plant and it will allow by 2015 increase volume of melted steel up to 3 Mio tons per year and refuse from concast billets and blooms selling. Production orientation is determined by demand in the market. For instance, initially seamless pipes production was oriented generally for production of engineering pipes, about 80% of the total amount of production and 20% OSTG pipes. At the moment, considering demand at the market the ratio is 40% to 60% correspondingly. In general, about 80% of pipes manufactured by BMZ are exported to 20 countries. Among them: Austria, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Slovak Republic, Spain, Turkey, USA, Russia, China, Serbia, Ukraine. Volume of pipes export in 2011 was about USD 123 Mio.

 At the end of the meeting at the round table participants of business-conference had a plant tour, visited section-rolling and pipe-rolling mills and after that went to Rechitsa hardware plant to continue their work.
