PrivatBank Will Teach Ukrainian Children Basics of Programming
OREANDA-NEWS. May 31, 2012. The largest Ukrainian bank PrivatBank opens a programming school for children. The first cycle of algorythmic programming trainings started in Dnipropetrovsk under the national educational program "JuniorBank". Studies are based on a unique Lego Education system that allows children to build robots and program their movements using construction set and computer.
"During the first lessons in children's programming school kids got so carried away with "reviving" their own robots that they’ve completed more than 3 tasks instead of only one we planned, - said the Head of JuniorBank Tatiana Dashevskaya. - Every child would like to build a soccer player robot by his own hands and teach it to hit a goal, studying the basics of algorythms and programming that will be useful in the modern world at the same time."
In the beginning of the school year in September, PrivatBank plans to open similar programming schools allover the country. Any child of school age would be able to visit these classes for free. Besides programming children will get the basic knowledge of economics and finance as well as learn how to use banking services with a "child" Junior credit card.
