OREANDA-NEWS. May 30, 2012. OJSC KAMAZ designed Chassis 4308-1560-96 which will be used in Venezuela for the production of 32-seater municipal and intercity passenger buses.
Much work has been done by KAMAZ to become a supplier of bus chassis in Venezuela. KAMAZ’s highly professional designers in cooperation with specialists of Russian Technologies state Corporation and designers of Venezuelan bus factories Caroserias Andina and Caroserias Urena managed to design a conforming product. The world`s leading brands MERCEDES, Chevrolet and ISUZU also offered their chassis, but preference was given to the product of the Russian automaker.
The KAMAZ chassis (4x2 wheel arrangement, KAMAZ axle) is as much as possible adapted to the Venezuelan market and designed to meet all standards. It is equipped with a 210 hp Cummins engine complying with Euro 3 and an Allison automatic gearbox. Rear suspension of the chassis is pneumatic based on two pneumatic members with 2 shock absorbers and stabilizer bar, front suspension has leaf springs with 2 shock absorbers and an antiroll bar. The bus can reach a maximum speed of 110 km per hour.
To date, OJSC KAMAZ delivers its products to 43 countries, including Venezuela, and is the Best Exporter of Russia’2011 in the automotive industry. Such a broad sales geography is simply explained: state-of-the-art KAMAZ vehicles operate under all road and weather conditions – in the tropics, deserts and high mountains.
