President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received World Bank Vice President for the Europe and Central Asia Region Mr. Philippe Le Houйrou, who arrived in the Turkmen capital to take part in the International Conference “Globalization of Financial Markets and Regional Aspects of Sustainable Growth”.

During the meeting the Turkmen leader and his guest exchanged their views on the priority aspects of the bilateral cooperation, and discussed the prospect for further enhancing the efficient long-term partnership in the context of the large-scale social and economic reforms implemented in the country. According to Mr. Philippe Le Houйrou, the World Bank supports the strategy for diversification of the national economy, modernization of the banking and financial structures pursued by Turkmenistan, and is ready to provide comprehensive assistance to this process aimed at bringing the country to the new advanced levels of development.

The President of Turkmenistan and the World Bank Vice President for the Europe and Central Asia Region also discussed the agenda of the international forum that is to be an open platform for constructive exchange of opinions and to promote developing the well-balanced solution of the important economic issues of the global significance.
