OREANDA-NEWS. May 29, 2012. As part of its commitment to promoting Russia’s air cargo and aviation sectors, Volga-Dnepr Group has hosted The International Air Cargo Association’s (TIACA) 2012 Executive Summit and Annual General Meeting in Moscow with its theme of ‘Air Cargo in the Rising Economies: East Balances West’.
“With its membership in the WTO, Russia will play a more and more important role in the global economy and its strong presence in the global air cargo logistics market will promote sales turnover between countries in Europe, the Americas and Asia,” says Michael Steen, TIACA Chairman.
Alexey Isaikin, President of Volga-Dnepr Group, added: “We are pleased to welcome TIACA members in Moscow. Choosing our country as the venue for the annual general meeting of this influential professional association is further evidence of Russia’s continuing integration into the global air cargo system. Holding its Executive Summit in Russia for the first time in TIACA’s history shows that the international industry recognises and values the potential of our country as a growing power in the air cargo market. This event has created a unique opportunity, jointly with the major companies in the industry, international organizations and government representatives, to determine the further development of our aviation sector.”
TIACA’s Executive Summit serves as a platform for discussing a wide range of issues associated with air cargo market development. The event attracted business leaders from Russia and the international business community, including senior representatives of the largest aircraft manufacturers, leading transport and logistics companies and government agencies.
