Ingosstrakh Considers Applications from Inhabitants of Yekaterinburg
OREANDA-NEWS. May 28, 2012. Ingosstrakh Insurance Company has started considering applications for payments of insurance indemnities from the inhabitants of Yekaterinburg who suffered from a hurricane that took place in the city on May 22, 2012. About 30 car owners having hull insurance policies of Ingosstrakh Insurance Company and whose cars were damaged during the hurricane claimed for compensation in the last 24 hours.
Major damages are mechanical damages of the vehicle’s upper parts: hood, roof, screens. Experts estimate a hull insurance average damage at 50,000 rubles. Therefore a total payment of insurance indemnities can be around 1.5 mln rubles.
A strong hurricane was registered in Yekaterinburg on May 22, 2012. Squall wind accompanied by a dust storm damaged house roofs, made street billboards fall and knocked people down. Traffic along the city’s major streets was paralyzed. Trams and trolleybuses came to a standstill as a result of a power failure. Several flights were delayed due to weather conditions at Koltsovo airport. The hurricane lasted for less than half an hour and suddenly disappeared shortly after. The media claims one victim who was a local inhabitant.
Ingosstrakh Insurance Company is ready to fulfill its obligations to insurants and will start payments of insurance indemnities after the affected party provides all the required documents.
