OREANDA-NEWS. May 28, 2012. President Dalia Grybauskaite met with a delegation from the Swedish Parliament (the Riksdag) to discuss the bilateral relations, the Nordic-Baltic cooperation, and the economic situation in Europe.
"Sweden is a long-term and trustworthy partner of Lithuania, the largest investor in our country. Strong bilateral ties show a huge growth potential we have in the Baltic Sea region. Through pursuit of common interests in the spheres of economy, energy, environment, security and defence we will ensure progress across the region," the President underlined.
Speaking about the economic situation in Europe the President stressed that Lithuania and Sweden shared a common view to responsible economic policies and fiscal discipline and it was important to continue on this path.
The meeting also addressed the issues of the EU Eastern Partnership Policy.
