3-in-1 Asus PadFone Is Now Available at EMT Stores
OREANDA-NEWS. May 28, 2012. Asus PadFone has arrived to
The Asus PadFone is essentially an Android 4.0 smartphone featuring a dual-core 1.5GHz processor. However, when coupled with accessories, the PadFone acts as a tablet thanks to a tablet shell. Moreover, the tablet portion can then dock into a keyboard dock, effectively making the PadFone a full laptop.
„If the phone’s screen is too small to get a good overview of an Excel sheet, put the phone into the tablet shell, and instantly you’ll get a larger view. For longer letters, add a keyboard to the tablet and you’ll be writing just as comfortably as you would using a laptop,” explained Ardi Ratassepp, Head of Terminal Sales Department at EMT.
The shell of the tablet is a regular display but it does not function without a phone. The tablet shell has a large battery which also charges the phone and increases phone’s battery life by 5-fold. Need more power? Simply dock the PadFone into the keyboard dock to increase battery life by 9-fold!
If the phone is connected to the tablet shell, the calls must be made through speakers. You can buy a 2-in-1 BT voice device / pen for making or receiving calls without having to remove the phone from the tablet attachment. Additionally, this pen can also be used to operate the touch screen.
„PadFone makes for seamless transitions between the three devices and users only need one SIM card to run the products, and this means that users can save on purchasing just one device instead of three,” noted Ratassepp.
The PadFone comes with several Asus applications. The apps can be locked, so, for example, your kids won’t be able to make calls while watching a cartoon. It also provides cloud service, useful for synchronizing data with your desktop computer.
Asus PadFone is priced at €599 for EMT customers. If you take the device with PadFone service plan, you’ll pay only €1 for the PadFone. The plan’s monthly fee starts from €29.90.
