OREANDA-NEWS. May 28, 2012. A business forum of business circles of Uzbekistan and China was held in Tashkent on 24 May.

The heads of ministries and departments, companies and concerns of the two countries responsible for the spheres of trade, industry, investment, economics, logistics, export-import, automotive, agriculture, mining, metallurgy and services have participated in the event organized by the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

At the forum devoted to the expansion of trade-economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and China, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Alisher Shaykhov stressed that cooperation between the two countries in the economic sphere is also developing successfully along with other spheres.

In 2011, the volume of mutual trade turnover amounted to USD 2 billion 596 million. In Uzbekistan, 382 joint ventures, representative offices of 65 firms and companies of China were created with the participation of Chinese capital. They mainly operate in the fields of light industry, textile, agricultural processing, construction and information technologies.

The forum guests were familiarized with the ongoing reforms in the economy of our country. The realization of joint projects in the organizations in the field of Jizzakh industrial park of high technologies and Navoi free industrial and economic zone were discussed in the event.

An exchange of views on further development of cooperation and joint projects between the two countries in such spheres like economy, investment, trade, logistics, small business and entrepreneurship, automotive and agriculture was held within the forum.

At the end of the business forum, agreements were signed on cooperation between Tashkent City Territorial Department of Commerce and Industry Chamber of Uzbekistan and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Sichuan Council, as well as the Tashkent Regional Territorial Department of Commerce and Industry Chamber of Uzbekistan and Xinjiang-Uyghur China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.

On the same day, the cooperation exchange with the participation of a number of companies and enterprises of Uzbekistan and the representatives of business circles of China took place.
