OREANDA-NEWS. May 28, 2012. Ukraine has conducted the evaluation of natural and unconventional gas stocks and invites private investors to active cooperation in hydrocarbons extraction.

This was declared by Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Yuriy Boyko during a roundtable, which was held by consulting company in the energy sector IHS CERA for the presentation of a special study "Natural gas and Ukraine's energy future".

"The conclusions indicated in the report presented our colleagues from the IHS CERA Company are realistic because they have very extensive experience in the investigated developments of shale gas deposits in various countries. Report shows great prospects for investors," the Minister noted.

Yuriy Boyko emphasized the development of Ukrainian hydrocarbon deposits including shale gas requires significant capital investments in exploration and production.

"Naturally, investments in the extraction will be private. These projects are based on the investments excluding the budget because any project of such scale with the ultimate purpose of commercial products sale based on private investments," he said.
