OREANDA-NEWS. May 25, 2012. Starting May 17, 2012, ceiling retail prices of dairy products and bread rise by 10.2%, while government-regulated meat prices shall rise by 29.3%-34.7%, under resolution #41 of the Economy Ministry dated May 8.

Meat prices were last adjusted by 20% on September 20, 2011. Ceiling retail prices of socially sensitive sorts of dairy products, bread and bakery goods were last adjusted on April 29, 2012.

The ministry said in a comment that the increase is to offset the rise in prices of raw materials, level off the difference in meat prices on the domestic and foreign markets and ensure that the domestic market receive sufficient volumes of meat and meat products.
