OREANDA-NEWS. May 24, 2012. Belarus is set to launch a USD 1.1 million project in 2013 to build a new nitrogen fertilizer facility at OJSC Grodno Azot. Belarus’ First Vice Premier Vladimir Semashko made a statement to that extent at a plenary session of the Belarus Industry Forum on Wednesday.

At the moment, the government is looking for an opportunity to take out an affordable long-term tied loan for the project, Semashko said.

"I think, by the end of the year, we will solve this issue on our own, even without waiting for the investor. We may start building a new factory next year," he said.

As previously reported, Belarus is looking for an investor to supply OJSC Grodno Azot with natural gas at an affordable price. A statement to that extent is made in Belarus’ industrial development programme for 2012-2020.
