OREANDA-NEWS. May 22, 2012. An auxiliary tunnel for installation of a heating utility line under the tracks of Moscow Railway Line have been completed as part of the preparatory phase for construction of Vykhino - Lermontovsky Prospekt section of Moscow Subway Taganskaya - Krasnopresnenskaya Line.

The first one of two tunnels was driven by IHI Tunnel Boring Machine with the cutting diameter of 3.73 m. The tunnel length is 75 meters. The tunnel lining was installed simultaneously with the tunneling. The first tunnel driving has been completed by the end of April, and they started driving the second tunnel on the 9th of May.

Concrete beds for installation of tunneling machines have been prepared on Lermontovsky Prospekt construction site. Some parts of Herrenknecht S-736 Tunnel Boring Machine have been already delivered to the site, and machine installation has been started. The machine will carry out the tunneling toward Vykhino subway station.

The excavation work and excavation pit shoring-up are close to completion on Lermontovsky Prospekt and Zhulebino construction sites. Concrete foundation construction, waterproofing, and rebar cage installation, with subsequent concreting are carried out in places where the excavation pit work has already been completed.
