Zhenhua Heavy Industry and Colombo ICT Signed Contract
OREANDA-NEWS. May 22, 2012. Zhou Jichang, Chairman of the Company, attended the port machinery contract signing ceremony between Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. and Colombo International Container Terminal at Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The value of this contract amounted to US 175 million, including the construction of 12 container cranes and 40 tyre cranes, which is Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry Co., Ltd.’s biggest port machinery order in recent years. The complete set of equipment won by the Company contains the container cranes with an outreach of 70m, which can satisfy the loading and unloading requirements of the biggest container vessels in the world. Under the contract, the equipment will be delivered in 3 batches as of May, 2013.CICT is the first overseas container terminal established, invested and controlled by China Merchant Group. The successful signing of this project fully reflects the profound friendship based on the long-term cooperation between the two parties and CICTMerchant Group.
