OREANDA-NEWS. May 21, 2012. Belarus’ ferrous rolled stock output rose 3% on the year in January-March 2012 to 657,600 tonnes, an official with Belarus’ National Statistics Committee told reporters.

Steel output increased 2.6% on the year to 703,400 tonnes. Steel wire output rose 2.7% on the year to 105,000 tonnes in the period.

Belarusian companies produced 26,400 tonnes of metal cord in the period, up 1.6% on the year.

In monetary terms, ferrous metal output in Belarus increased 1.6% on the year to 9.274 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) in January-March 2012.

Inventories of steel products totaled Br998.3 billion as of April 1, 2012, 44.4% of the average monthly output.
