Boris Krasnyansky to Become New CEO of Group DF
OREANDA-NEWS. May 18, 2012. Boris Krasnyansky, who is currently Managing Partner of PwC Ukraine, will become the new CEO of Group DF. According to Mr. Dmitry Firtash, founder and Executive Chairman of Group DF, Mr Krasnyansky will step into this role with effect from 1 September 2012.
Mr Robert Shetler-Jones, Group DF’s current CEO, will join the Group’s Supervisory Board to focus on Group International Development.
Paying tribute to Shetler-Jones, Mr Firtash said: "Working alongside me over the past 10 years, Robert’s vision and leadership have helped develop Group DF into one of Eastern Europe’s major group of companies. In his new role on the Supervisory Board, Robert will focus on our future international development and his unique skills, insight and strategic vision will contribute to the Group’s further growth."
According to Mr Firtash, Mr Krasnyansky is a widely known and respected professional and manager. “Boris is the perfect choice to succeed Robert as the CEO of Group DF at this new stage of the Group’s development – a stage of growth and transformation,” commented Mr Firtash. He further noted that Mr Krasnyansky’s involvement in the major transformation of Group DF’s structure, governance and operational systems over the past 18 months will play a very positive role.
Mr Shetler-Jones likewise expressed his approval of the change to the Group’s management structure and Mr Krasnyansky joining the Group. “The Group must strive to be the leader in a number of vital sectors in international markets. Such a goal requires the involvement of managers who have a proven track record of efficiency and professionalism. I am delighted to welcome a specialist with just such an international reputation to join our team,” said Mr Shetler-Jones.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Krasnyansky said: “I am looking forward to joining Group DF with great enthusiasm. The Group has ambitious goals and it is a great honour and privilege for me to lead the Group into the next phase of its international development. I have cooperated with the Group’s senior executives over the past 18 months as part of the Group’s restructuring programme. The growth of this business, associated with the revival of industries traditionally strong in Ukraine as well as its large-scale strategic plans, reinforced my decision.”
Boris Krasnyansky was born on 23 November 1958 in Kyiv, Ukraine. He received a degree in economics and information technology from the Kyiv Institute of National Economy (diploma with honours in economics and informational technologies) as well as a postgraduate degree in industrial economics.
Boris joined PwC in 1993 when the firm was founded in Ukraine, as a manager of its Management Consulting Services group. From 1995, Boris was in charge of the Ukraine MCS practice and was admitted to the partnership in 1997. In 2001, Boris was appointed the Head of MCS for Russia and Ukraine, as well as the leader of strategic consulting services for Central and Eastern Europe and the CIS. He was also a member of the Global Advisory Board of PwC Consulting.
