Industrial Production Decreased 3.4% in Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. May 18, 2012. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the volume of industrial production declined 4,5% in March, 2012 as compared with March, 2011 The decline in industrial production was explained by 9,1% lower production in the mining industry, by 3,1% lower production in the processing industry and the 3,8% less production in the energy sector.
In January-March, 2012 it was produced 0,9% lass foods and beverages than in the same period in 2011. In Q1, 2012 Moldova saw the decline by 57,9% in tobacco production, 44% in flour –grinding products, 34,9% in metallurgy, 33% in mineral production, 31,4% in chemicals production, 23,4% in cacao, chocolate and confectionary production, 13,9% in production of paper and cardboard.
IT was produced 12,5% less of canned fruit and vegetables, 11,9% less of woodworks, 10,4% less of machines and equipments, 8,3% less of garments, 6,7% less of wines and 2,1% less of distilled alcohol. At the same time in Q1, 2012 production increased 1,8 times for medical devices, precious and optical instruments; 36,3% for electric machines and equipments, 15,8% of fats and vegetable oils. Production, processing and canning of meat and meat products grew 15,5%, production of textiles increased 13,7%.
It was produced 13,6% more of articles of leather and foot wear, 10,9% more of dairy, 8,6% more of mineral waters and refreshers, 4,5% more of finished metal works, with the exception of machines and equipments, 0,8% more of furniture, etc.
